A perfect mix of culture, food, and wine, this tour will take you walking through the city of Lucca and then into the vineyard hills to taste the best dishes and wines of Tuscany.
Italians know Lucca as the “Città d’arte” (city of art) because the historic center is still perfectly preserved, with endless buildings and monuments from Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles. It’s also as known as “Città della musica” (music city), because it contains a world-class archive of musical compositions, hosts year-long music concerts, and is the birthplace of opera composer Giacomo Puccini.
Walk through the city with the insightful commentary of an expert guide, who will reveal the history behind the city’s unique rectangular design. He’ll take you along the city’s Renaissance-era walls, into the awe-inspiring churches (Duomo entrance tickets included), across the piazza set in an old Roman amphitheater, around the Puccini family home, and so much more.
Then we’ll head to lunch on an organic vineyard nestled in the hills of Tuscany to enjoy some classic Tuscan fare in the sunshine. Featuring seasonal products from the neighboring farms, the lunch will also include a tasting of the vineyard’s own wines (of course!). Then we’ll bring you back to your accommodation to enjoy the rest of the afternoon.
